Tour de España 2011: part one!

Well, this tour was meant to be of the whole of the Peninsular but a raft of problems has delayed my start far too late to enjoy the deep south. So the tour is from the furthest east  to the furthest west, from Cap de Creus to Finnesterre – although in fact I’ll be going to the Cabo Touriñan, which is actually the geographical westernmost point of mainland Spain by  a few hundred metres.

Here’s the map so far. I’ll be adding the actual route as it gets done, and recording progress on a blog – daily depending of Wifi, etc. Check out my progress on the ‘Tour de España 2011’  post category.

The idea is to stay in various camp site for two or three nights, using the free days in between to explore the various areas, devise rides and routes, etc. and then have relatively short hops from place to place. But I already have several invitations to the spend the odd night under cover – and enjoy some very good company!

BMW X-Country in its X-Continent mode - or should that be N-Continent!

I’ll also be reviewing the various items of equipment I’ve been buying over the last two years – having learned quite a lot from my experiences thus far; clothes, camping gear, including cooking stoves, luggage, you name it – it will all come under some close scrutiny over the coming month!
